Audio visual installations inspired by the legend of Orpheus and Eurydice, created for the theatrical performance of Depart at Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park.

“The use of video by SDNA was very interesting and intriguing… The projections on the gravestones were beautiful and delicate and they helped embed the performance into the setting.”. Beth Ferguson –

We wanted to respond to the atmospheric location adding evocative images without exposing the technology behind them. We filmed Circa’s performers and transformed them into ‘lost souls’, some floating in and out of existence on black monolithic screens set amongst the undergrowth, some running or spinning projected onto gravestones, while others sat in quiet reminiscence amongst the trees.

“Ben Foot and Valentina Floris’ video and projection work adds a sumptuous surreality as you wander along your route. They’re beautifully shot and edited making them as gripping and as striking as the crumbling epitaphs they’re projected on or between”.  JWaygood – Grumpy Gay Critic
