A six weeks residency in Basildon transforming an empty supermarket into the fantastic realm of imaginary creatures

Taking the magic of spring as our theme, we designed an innovative digital installation in a former supermarket in the town centre of Basildon.
Large window murals with peep holes revealed animated creatures designed with residents and visitors through a series of workshops in creature building for digital animation.
Over 800 participants of different ages and mixed ability attended the workshops and helped us transforming window displays into an otherworldly theatrical set populated by a kingdom of magical beings.
A cross platform creature building app reached participants with limited mobility.
