The Virtual Imaginarium

Engaging long-term hospital patients with chronic conditions in a series of Virtual Reality workshops.

Developed in collaboration with rb&hArts and Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust, SDNA led a series of workshops exploring creative approaches to drawing and sculpting in Virtual Reality, engaging elderly people and long-term hospital patients living with life-limiting and chronic conditions. Funded by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, the project was delivered across three hospital sites, a library and an Open Age hub and resulted in a series of artworks in VR.

I loved it! I would love to do this again, I found it very interesting, relaxing. I felt good after”. Patient at Royal Brompton Hospital

I wanted to take part. It was a pleasant experience. I was a bit afraid when told to move as I didn’t understand I could. It makes people happy and happiness has no price“. Patient at Harefield Hospital
