Video Manifesto – 19º Festival Se Rasgum

An exciting cross cultural collaboration with three talented artists from the Amazon basin in Brazil: visual artist Moara Tupinambá, cinematographer Fernanda Brito Gaia, and composer Nelson D.

The collaboration began online and later developed in person in Belém, the capital of Pará in northern Brazil. Together, the artists created a powerful video manifesto and a site-specific projection exploring the theme of Environment and Climate Crisis. Both works were presented at the 19th edition of the Se Rasgum Festival.

The project examined the growing tension between urban expansion and the forest, revealing how city development threatens the existence of communities living at the intersection of these two environments. It also highlighted the efforts of activists and the resistance of local groups working to defend their land, culture and ecosystems.
